We save together
Let’s make the world a little better together. Every step counts.
Together, we help reduce waste.
Nice and sustainable without having to do much.
Let the FoodWatch app be your assistant.
If you are aware of what you can still consume and what you buy,
you can convince others to do the same.
With a bit of help from FoodWatch 🙂
About FoodWatch
The FoodWatch app is a private initiative.
It originated from a Dutch creative whose idea for the app arose from practical experiences and observations: products in storage drawers that had been neglected for a long time and whose best-before date had passed.
What a waste; throwing them away unused. That had to be changed.
Or those countless times products were bought at the supermarket because you thought you didn’t have them left. Only to discover upon arriving home that you actually had plenty. That, too, could be done differently.
It called for a solution: FoodWatch.
And you can now use this digital assistant that keeps track of your edible products for free. Saving together and making the world a little better.

Transparent. Honest.
This is what FoodWatch stands for:
Local, your data
FoodWatch runs on your smartphone and stores your inventory locally.
No user tracking. No dependencies. FoodWatch does not share your data.
Objective, free, ad-free
Saving money starts with a free app that helps you. FoodWatch is free to download from the Google Play Store. FoodWatch has no in-app purchases, is not sponsored, and shows no advertisements. There is no revenue model behind it, not even based on data. But a donation to the creator is appreciated 🙂
No registration needed
After installing the app, you can immediately start adding products or creating your shopping list; no registration, no login, no profile.
Permissions on your smartphone: camera and notifications
FoodWatch asks for permission to use your camera to use the barcode scanner or to allow you to take a photo of the product. Additionally, you must give permission for the FoodWatch app to send notifications, so that you receive an alert when a product is nearing its expiration date. That is all.
Personal
FoodWatch is your helper for keeping track of your stock and reminding you of products that are about to expire. You indicate your preferences via the settings. You decide when notifications are sent. You choose the light or dark theme. You can add categories yourself.
It’s all about simplicity
In the FoodWatch app, you get started right away. No unnecessary features, no focus on animations and “eye candy,” but efficient product addition with ease. Want to quickly add the product name, brand, and photo? Use the barcode scanner. Fill your shopping list? Simply on the page itself or via My stock.
